The beautiful temple of Poseidon at Sounion has been one of my favourite subjects for watercolours when visiting Greece. Every time I have painted it, I have felt the peaceful energy of centuries and the silent awe of those in its presence. The red energy of the sunset make the columns seem alive. In this watercolour, I was sitting up close on the mountain on one of the marble stones surrounding it.
