Tall slender white birches, with appealing yellow forms, in the fall are very pleasing to watch and to paint. When birch leaves fall to the ground, they do so very lightly and, scatter as though life is blown by the wind. The Artist has used thick choppy strokes, in an impasto impressionistic technique, to put extra emphasis to a foreground.
