Tatossian was a master in drawing and in the use of pastel. He compared himself, for a time, to Michelangelo. Renaissance artists would begin their training at a very early age. Armand was fortunate in that his father and grandfather were exceptional artists. He began to paint at the age of ten. This exquisite still life, which speaks for itself, was done at the age of nineteen.
