Canada’s natural beauty, more particularly her autumn spectacles, drew Tatossian to the woods to paint en plein air. Using thick bold strokes and paint right out of the tube, he gave strength, spontaneity and vivacious energy to his outdoor works. As the leaves approach the viewer, the warmth intensifies, resulting in a wild frenzy of masterfully balanced use of colour to create emotion.
