The work is a meticulous study of the painters garden. It is divided in half. The foreground composition consists of pink and red roses and, above in the distance, yellow and purple flowers. There exists a definite summer glow to this work. How was this done? The secret emanates from the ubiquitous use of green in the composition; cold in the front and warm in the distance, generating a peaceful summer atmosphere.
