The beautiful temple at Sounion was one of my favourite subjects on my numerous visits to Greece. Every time I have painted it, I felt a peaceful energy of the many centuries and the silent awe and respect of all the visitors. In this watercolour, I was sitting on the beach below the temple and captured the moment just as sunset began.
