This work was one of the artists favourite works. He called it a painters painting. It is a detailed depiction of something very mundane, and a scene that perhaps, a passerby would not even notice. It is a painting of rocks along a wall of a sandpit. The are multiple diagonal lines, but little contrast along the composition, using raw umber earth tones. The rocks however, are made to attain human like qualities. The more one looks, the more one feels the vibrancy of these inanimate stones.
