Rhyn is a colourist par excellence. In this particular painting, the colours are sparse and very subdued. A snow blizzard, the main theme, has literally hit this village, creating havoc. The scene begins to change mysteriously, however. As we inspect the houses one by one, we are stunned by what we witness. Multiple faces of middle aged men and women is now the main theme. The portraits are drawn in detail, in the walls and roofs, and we ask ourselves why?
