Rhyn, a plain air artist, must have walked the extra mile to paint from this particular rocky shore. It’s a barren shore where rocks of various sizes and shapes compete for our attention. The foreground of the painting takes up most of the canvas. The slate like stones in front are interesting, but, colour wise, the warm spectacular rock in the background is what arouses our interest. Technically, it is excellent. The artist has managed to give us a different and unique view of the celebrated natural phenomenon called the rock of Percé.
