Rhyn was a meticulous painter who had mastered the difficulty that makes most artists reluctant to paint. This challenge is called painting green on green. In this well balanced and very peaceful scene, one cannot help but notice that, except for the small trunk of the tree to the left and a slither of sky in the foreground, the whole canvas is saturated with green. A green that is so well tempered, it hardly becomes noticeable. The onlooker in the end is given the feeling of a calm and serene summer day.
