This painting is the artist's way of celebrating the earth and, in particular, the amazing beauty of natural light. On first glimpse, our eye falls on the neutral green center, then shifts to the upper left hand corner. Here, the light is warm, soft and fresh. Our eyes are then led to the bark on the trees. Here, the light shines a complementary pink, which glows and mirrors on the water, only to be reflected back again.
