Various tones of green light,from a very faint yellow colour to a dark sap green, are the makeup of this painting. Even the shadows are painted in green, suggesting perhaps, that Rhyn meant to express himself through the use of tonalism. Whatever his green motives were, the end result is brilliant. Rhyn has captured, in a meaningful way, the freshness and magnificence of a green meadow in spring.
