Tzanoff trained in the academy of Tsarist Russian. During his long life and tides of change in the world of art, he remained active and true to his style until the end of his life. Tzanoff worked mainly in pen, ink and charcoal, doing commissioned portraits. His still life and landscapes show an air of romantic Impressionism.
